Pada saat itu hanya pemerintah Belanda yang menanam kopi, masyarakat tidak boleh mengetahui mengenai penanaman kopi tersebut. Kopi pertama sekali ditanam Belanda di kawasan Desa Paya Tumpi, yang selanjutnya berkembang ke Rediness, Blang Gele, Bergendal, Burni Bius dan Bandar Lampahan.
